i have looked and search threw the forums and did not see this anywhere. so please dont flame me. i was wondering on how long this might take...cost and mods required. but the way i want to do it is...im not interested in modding my floor but i want to set it up like and old chevelle with a hurst shifter. for those of u who dont know what im talking aboot it has a pull cable for the clutch right on the shifter. where u can pull it up with 2 fingers and shift. if anyone could tell me this with out flaming me and tell me mods and all. the other question is do i need to change any mounts or anything. thanx HtR

Way to be original, but good luck with that! Try searching/posting in the transaxle forum...

Transaxle Forum would be the place. Been done recently. 2.5L ATX to 3L ATX to 3L MTX to blowed up 3L MTX. I hope he's gotten another motor by now...
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

the swap will probably cost more than the car unless you can find N.O.S. parts

Junkyard would be cheaper...

No...it's a pull-cable for reverse loc/out mechanism. Think about it, as hard as it is to push in a clutch w/ your foot in a tranny behind a big-block...do you actually think you could do it w/ two fingers...?
sure you can pull-up w/ two fingers & shift...just don't do it at a high rate of speed
1999 Sportage 4x4...don't go there, it was free

what u think im a wimp or something??? i have driven many many cars i dont want to go threw the foot pedal installation. and i think it wouldnt be that hard. as for the tranny im thinking aboot a junkyard canadate and a rebuild for it. im planning on getting a whole car where the @$$ end was totaled out and the front end it still good. i might get lucky and fine a duratec motor in one and do it that way. but i will see i wanted info before i deside to do it. my atx is still strong and just wanted info before i desided. i dont think that the cable would be that hard to pull. i have pulled many in chevys ford and all. i had a 1980 f150 with a 351 w which i did it with cant be that hard. must be easier then that. im looking for originality. and anyone can do a push pedal. im not gonna race it. its an everyday driver. so ill keep in touch and let everyone know of my mod process. thanx for the put downs and help. Ah, good! Even better!
I musta been reading about somebody blowing up their 3L 'bout the same time you had done your MTX swap. I'm old & get confused easily.
