i may be buying 2 new rockford 500x amps for $219 each. ( use one for 250x 2 for the subs, another for 62.5 x 4 for components) to replace my old amps

im just basically asking your opinion on the quality of this amp, and how good of a deal this is. also considering alpine but this sounds like a good deal as it is...

yes thats a good deal, fosgate are ussualy extremely expensive.

only thought is that 4 channel amps do not offer the best sound quality. It would be a lot better to have two 2-channel amps and or just one 2 -channel amp on the fronts. If you are not extrememly picky about sound q, go with the 4 channel, they are very practicle

i could be wrong, but isnt a 4 channel amp essentially two 2 channel amps connected to work together? that being the reason you cant bridge down to 1 channel...ive never heard this about 4 channels. # of channels has much less to do with the makeup of the amp than type, such as class a, d, etc.
anyone else comment on this?
