Ok my 2.0 vtech engine seems to run hotter then it should very close to red but still in normal I live in buffalo ny and the temperature has been under 40 degrees.

I have installed new thermostat
antifreeze is moving through system upper and lower hoses fine
tested antifreeze mixture it's fine
radiator fins all fine

i may flush the system and try new antfreeze

does anyone no what the problem may be and were to check next.

i noticed the air conditioning compressor makes noise when it's on if it's going bad can it cause the overheating if the air conditioner is off it sounds fine when the compresor turns on high squeeling sound.

my brother in law has a escort with a 2.0 his stays in middle

thanks for response in advance

Before accepting that the in-dash guage is correct and that you do have a problem with elevataed operating temperatures, you should check the actual temperature with an external device such as an IR thermomenter.

The in-dash guage and sending units are not very precise. I've seen a lot of car owners panic over high readings when the temp was fine, but the guage was wrong.
