I know there are issues involving the correct Contour spark plugs, but I can't find anything using the search function altho I read something in the past.

Car now has Autolite APP5344 plugs in it.

AutoZone lists these for 95 Contour:

Which of these would be the best choice?

Autolite Double Plat
APP5364
APP5344

Motorcraft
4112
4Z1

Champion Double Plat
7437

Thanks!

Now I found this interesting past post tidbit.

So the APP5364 "Double Platinum" plug at Autozone.com is the WRONG plug?

This doesn't compute....

Quote:

Just for Everyones info that might read this I have been having a heck of a time finding plugs for this car. Turns out that the parts stores are miss reading what they are using for a replacement for it. The original plug was a APP5344 (Note the DOUBLE P) When they two parts stores sold me plugs (the replacement Plugs) they gave me APP5364's When they should have in fact given me AP5364's (Note the SINGLE P). So just for informational purposes make note of the difference!

Found an old post that says that the correct plug is:

Autolite APP5364

or

Motorcraft 4112

I would get motorcraf 4112, they are the OEM replacement plug that ford suggests you use. I have gotten best results from this plug.

The autolite double platinum has worked the best for all of the Contiques I've used them in. The Autolites are reasonably priced and are easy to get. I think you will find that most on the site will agree with me. What ever you do, Stay away from Bosch!!!!

Both the APP5364 and APP5344 will work.
The difference is in the overall length of the plug.
The APP5364 is slightly longer, I think, by 1/16".

Motorcraft and Autolite are basicly the same plug, so get whatever is cheaper.

Stay away from Champion and Bosch.
