I have had the Eclipse HU installed and have the issue of night time use illuminated. other than the main volume knob, everything else is dark. Are there high SQ HU's out there that have good night displays?
Thanks Immarocker

I am not familiar with Eclipse, but some HUs have a separate input for night illumination (i.e. a separate wire goes into the HU that is supposed to have +12V when the lights are turned on).

The display illiumination mode would then be changed accordingly. If the wire is not connected, it will remain in either daytime or nighttime mode, whichever is default.

Just a thought.

I'm with joe on this one! I have Eclipse 5506 and I have illumination! Check your wiring. I know of a silly installer who also left that wire unconnected the first time frown

Good Luck,

Chris. smile

Thanks for the reply. I do have some illumination. The smaller buttons running on the bottom of the HU that control stations and cd functions doesn't light up. The unit I have is the 55030. Do all the buttons light up on the 5506? thanks Immarocker

Yup, all of my small buttons light up. Sounds like a problem wih the eclipse. Take unit back to have it checked out.

Later,

Chris.

Take it back to the installer and tell him to hook up the illumination wire.
