I just need some help on how to put a video onto my computer and then i can post it up here....its of my old contour...the video is when i just got finished with putting the hydraulics on...if somebody could help please email me at TruRida22@aol.com or just im me....thanks

Whoa you reg. in 2000. Welcome veteran hehe.
Do need to know how to put it from the camcorder to compy? If so, then you'd prolly need to tell us what you have for a camcorder. And then someone will pipe up abou hosting your video I'm sure.

Thats right i'm from the old school... but what i need help with is info on how to get it from my vcr to my computer? do i just buy an rca 3 plug to usb cable? or what? then once i do that how to i load it to the computer and saved and post? its kinda long...i just wanna show some parts...like how high the contour looked when i jacked it up all the way and what it looked like when i layed the body complety out....if you guys have some answers please either post or email me please...thanks guys

From VCR to computer you'll need a video capture card. They sell ones built-in to many graphics cards (ie ATI's All-in-Wonder) or you can buy a seperate PCI card. IIRC they're going from $40 and up on pricewatch.com.

Then you'll need some editing software, a cheap-o version usually comes bundled with the card.

To get it in a somewhat portable format you'll need to compress the video with either WMV which is available with Windows Movie Maker for Windows XP or using another codec (quicktime, real, DivX)

If you need the encoder for DivX pro it is available as part of the K-Lite Codec Pack btw this is probably the most complete video codec package



Anyone else have suggestions?
