Hi there,

I've been researching somewhat on the car audio forums, but I still have a couple of questions..

1. To power the subs (placed in the trunk) I know you need to run a wire from the battery to the amp. Is there a place where I can leech the power of off something near the glovebox? How does this work?

Also, which methods of routing the RCA cables do you find worked the best? Along the door line, or down the center console?

Thanks!

when i ran my wire from the fuse next to the battery there are black patches in the firewall that they come off and just poke the wire throught i used a screw driverand ran it to the trunk.hope that help don't forget to put the fuse close to the battery!the rca i think is easier along the door line.

How do you regulate the power?... Does your amp stay on all the time or do you have a switch?

Or do you use the deck remote ?

Yep, the remote for the HU works fine. You can also install a switch to turn it on/off. I used to have one in my old car. I would suggest using the HU though... wink

I would use the remote wire from the HU. I wired my RCAs along the door line on the opposite side of the amp power cable. If you wire it along each other you may get interference. wink

Also, when you connect the power from the battery to the sub... How do did some of you route the cable? From the + terminal which way did you take it through the firewall and to the trunk?

I ran all my lines from the radio to the amp under the center consol. My amp is under passenger seat well 2 amps and a crossover. But power comes from the power line that also controls the dome light but with a larger fuse now. Thinking of changing to use the old factory amp's power or run fire wires to the batt.

if possible, i would use the side panels to run wires, that lets you keep the power cable on one side (probably the drivers side) and the rca cables as far away as possible, on the other side. that helps reduce possible noise that the cables might pick up from the power

I ran my power cable from the battery through a rubber cover in the firewall on the driver's side to the amp along the side panels. I ran the rca and remote down the center console. I would just use the remote to turn amp on/off(automatic; and why would you need amp on w/o music?). Also I grounded the amp to a screw under the carpet in the trunk behind the passenger side tail light. Sadly though the amp is wired wrong and it'll be another week until I have it going.
