Check engine light came on, yes again, and now a P0420 F code is coming up. Does anyone know what this problem is or has anyone else had this problem?

Your system is detecting that the O2 is at a lean condition.
Can be caused by a faulty O2 sensor on bank 1 (near firewall, back side..) and most mechanics will jump the gun on replacing that.
Can also be caused by a lean condition going in to the engine, and the o2 is just reporting what it really does see. (vice reporting stuff not truly present)
a leak in a gasket on the manifold, or any place after the MAF really, can cause this. faulty fuel injectors could not be providing enough fuel for the air it is taking in, and making it lean.
a leak in the exhaust manifold could be allowing air to leak in just before the O2 sensor.
Check your MAF to see if it is oil fouled. Check/change your air filter. Run a few (maybe as many as three seperate tank fulls) bottles of injector cleaner through the gas tank.
Don't just jump on changing the O2 sensor, as it may not be that, and if it really IS that, then something may be underlying to ause the O2 sensor to go bad prematurely.
A little maintenance may clear it up. Remember to reset your CEL after any changes (else it will still be lit even though you fixed the problem.)
Good luck, and let us know what you find out.

Thanks for all info, but let me tell you the entire story of problems that my car has had....Just got both of the 02 sensors changed last week because I had a P1151 and P0153 code come up. Within the last year I have also changed the MAF sensor and all the gaskets on the upper and lower manifold. My mechanic is worried that it may be my catalytic converter, but he is still looking into the code that came up this time to make sure that it is not something else. Does anyone know if my car, a 98 SE V6 has another 02 sensor near the exhaust? He asked me something about this but I have no idea about it or cars in general. He thought that my car should have a sensor here. So with this extra information, any ideas on the new P0420 code?

You have 4 total sensors...
2 up stream and 2 down stream

The sensors that were changed were Bank1 Sensor 1 and Bank 2 Sensor 2, would the other two sensors cause this P0420 code?
