Quick question...

I have one DVC sub...4 ohm coils.

If I have a 4 channel amp can I bridge each set of 2 channels so that I can send each bridged signal to a voice coil?? I can't remember ever seeing it done so I'm wondering how safe it is?

Basically the amp would be running in 4 ohm mono...but two channels at 4 ohm.

Provided your amp is 4ohm mono stable (sounds like it is), then:

Bridge 1 and 2 to one VC. Bridge 3 and 4 to the other VC. Should work fine. (I believe this is what you're describing)

And yes the amp IS 4 ohm mono stable. Its actually 2ohm mono stable as well!

ah, using one of the advantages of a dvc to solve one of the pains in the A$$ of 4 channel amps

i was planning on doing the same thing, but in the end i went with 2 single vc subs instead. it would work fine that way though as long as the amp can handle it, like he said

Thanks for the insight...I'm actually looking for new amps and am thinking about getting two 4 channels IF that wiring is possible, which it is, so now I'll be looking for a couple 4 channels on purpose. Call me weird I guess!
