Whoever said it was a drag car, it is Far from that. It is full weight, interior, etc. He drives it a LOT. Marko has 4 cars, and still managed to put 5000 miles on his supra last year.
He runs a TH400 3speed with reverse manual valve body (he shifts it twice)
He ran the 8.4 on around ~1100ish
Last week marko went back and dynoed 1520whp through his UNLOCKED tc. You can guess, but 2000hp? I look forward to him hitting the track (and probably driving the car home from the track as well)

It's still a drag car (not there is something wrong with that, but a 3 speed is not an adequate daily driver, unless you got money, which that guy does). 5000 miles NOT on full boost. I'd like to see the fastest car that has STOCK tranny. So far, I've heard it's the viper I posted a couple days ago. I think I saw a supra in a magazine that has a setup running 9s and is going to put nitrous on it to get into the 8s before he swaps trannies.

I don't see your point. If you have to upgrade the transmission, it is a "drag" car? He could take a girl out in that, and there would be no complaints. Williams viper went 8.8 on a manual trans, but I doubt it was stock - considering their syncros dont even like factory HP levels haha. Also, not as impressive - but peterb's supra went 9.3 on a 1.3 60' last week on a stock 6speed transmission and IRS!
"Not on full boost" - What is your point? Even a factory 1.8t audi is not at full boost constantly... do you consider that drag as well?

You know exactly what I mean by full boost. If that factory car goes WOT on the street, he'll hit full boost. If that supra goes WOT while he's tooling around town, it's gonna hit a lower boost than what he runs at the track. I KNOW you know what a boost controller is. And I think the girl may complain about the noise, unless he is using a cutout, even then it's gonna be somewhat louder than stock. And if there is any suspension changes, maybe some complaints there. I guess I should have clarified, not stock tranny internals, stock 6 speed tranny. Even then, that viper wouldn't be a good daily driver either. I didn't really have much of a point. Just the fact I like something that is closest to being a daily driver and fast. Really all that the drag strip is fun, I'd rather have something that is fast but can run around a road course all day. If it can be driven to that road course, and to work the next day, that is even cooler.

kremit, perhaps you missed the whole point that the car is set up for the street. My contour has an upgraded transmission and if I run full boost, is it considered a race car? By no means. The same with this supra. It has full interior, its not tubbed out for big race slicks, etc. The list goes on. Whether this guy wants to go get grocerys, take a 200 mile trip, or head to the drag strip, its a street car.
And who cares if he was running full boost. Why would he have to turn down the boost on the street than if hes at the track? If he would have turned down the boost and ran 10s in the video, would you have considered it a street car. Your logic makes no sense.
Well everybody, apparently if your car has an upgraded transmission, hits full with your turbo like just about all of the ADC turbo kits out there, and the woman says its too loud, your car is classified as a drag car. Im glad we solved that.

My logic doesn't have to make sense, it's my logic. Obviously your missing my point, albeit a small point and my point. It technically is a street car. Is it a practical street car? Not that it matters. I don't know why ya'll even care about what I said.
And that car is not setup for the street. It is a street car setup for the strip.
