Sorry all to be asking so many questions about the same thing, but I read the directions on how to install the mesh on the oval grill on the newer model contours. I understand all of the instructions up to the point where it gets to screwing the black ring back on the chrome ring. My question is, what is on the back of the chrome ring to put a screw in to? I have not attempted this mod yet because I am scared of ruining the grill that I have now. (Not having one not only looks bad but offers no protection to the radiator as you all know.) I am trying to get the best understanding of the procedure I can before I start cutting and sanding my origional grille. I know that I can buy another one (Carquest $50) but I'm running low on cash and don't have $50 to throw away on something that could have only costed my a couple of dollars. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry again to be asking so many questions about the grilles. I do appreciate all of your help. Thanks.

check that out, you can bend it back to make tabs and bend them around something and it should stay that way or you can fold some excess mesh back and drill some small holes, maybe 3 or 4 with a dremel tool and put some flathead screws through there. I havent done this but I think you can just put these holes though the inside lip of the chrome ring and it will look good. and with the flathead screws you wont even see em. good luck!
