Ok, so last night I'm comming home and as I slow down in front of my house, I hear this awful rattling noise on deceleration. It sounds a lot like engine knock, but it's only on deceleration, and not at idle. This morning I wake up, get in to go to work and as I slow down at the stop sign it's doing it again. I can rev the engine and not hear the noise. Being as i've dealt with a spun bearing before I decided not to drive it and have it towed (yes I know I can look at it myself, and no I have no desire to do that). I get a call from the mechanic at the Stealership (queue the "that's a rip" ) stating they think it's something in the tranny, but it's going to be $1000 to rip it apart and look. I'm not sure I really want them to do that to just "maybe see if that's the problem" They've tried to screw me on that before. I guess I'm just venting but do you have any ideas what would cause that noise? It's almost like a baseball card in a bike spoke sound. Or, does anyone in the GR area have a beater they want to sell me

. I'm seriously thinking about parking the car in the back, and getting something else.
