My car has been throwing a P0155 code pretty much since I got it. I have had the offending sensor replaced twice and the light has always come back on within a 100 miles.

At some point I was told that as long as my gas mileage stays OK that I don't really need to address it. A couple of months back I finally cleaned my intake filter and ever since (not sure if this is related or just a coincidence) my mileage has been dropping. It is now ~18mpg which is really bad.

I went to Autozone yesterday and it now shows P1151 as well.

Any thoughts as to what might be the underlying problem or should I just get the 2 sensors fixed and reset the computer?

You may have over oiled your filter thus throwing the 1151 code - that will foul the MAF sensor with oil and crap and it won't read the air flow enough and thus not add enough fuel giving you the lean code. You can fix that by taking the filter of and shaking the oil off it (a good way to do this is put it in a zip-lock bag and put it in the spin cycle in you washing machine with NO WATER - just don't let mum see do this or you are screwed!)

To clean the sensor, with the MAF off, spray electrical contact cleaner on the wires in the sample tube. Gie it a good dousing, but don't touch it with anything else.

You may be suffering from a short in the O2 harness too, or a porr connection. clean off the prongs in the harnes with a cotton tip and some alcohol, and reconnect, reset computer and try again. I don't think that the sensor itself is bad due to it beeing changed twice already.

The P0155 indicates a problem in the heater circuit for the upstream firewall side sensor. If the sensor has been replaced for this exact code, then the sensor is not likely the problem. Most likely a wiring harness issue.

The P1151 code is for the OTHER upstream sensor.
