Ok heres the deal Im getting a 98 or 99 contour this saturday. I have spearers and my sub from my old car.. My question is how many speakers are in this car are there 4 or 6 speakers. And what size are the speakers in the door i know if there are speakers in the trunk there gonna be fords crapp 6x8 stupd ford my damn 6x9 are go nna be a pin in the ass to put in just like my last ford..

Please respond fast just cuz i got an offer for my old 5 1/4 and 6x9 and if these wont fit id like to sell them since im ognna get 2x what i paid for them on the sale since i got a hook up when i bought em

There are 4 speakers. They are mounted in the front and rear doors and are 6x8s. The mounting depth is the biggest issue you will run into when trying to install a 6x9. It is 2.75" in the front and I believe 2.25" in the rear. What kind of speakers do you currently have? Do you have replacements in mind?

rite now i have 5 1/4 they are Rockfrod Fosgate frc2205 brand new used them for maybe 5 weeks at most

These were powered by my aiwa deck its 45x4 and i have an 8" kenwood tube w/ a built in amp.. Im going to use this deck and the tube in the contour.. I think when i get it im gonn ut the tube and deck in asap atleastill have a cd player then upgrade the speakers later

as for replacemnt im not sure what im gonna do yet.. can i fight 5x7 in there or only 6x8 will be a clean easy fit.. ill drill new holes if i have 2 but i prefer not 2

I just measured in my '97 Mystique, and the clearance is 3.25 in the back (inches) and 3.00 in the front doors..

I'm shopping for 6x9's right now, as they are asking *way* too much for 6x8's in my area... I'll put a spacer in front of the speaker to compensate...
