5 channel amps are great, i have 0 problems with their use.

What is your budget and what are your system goals?

It is my civic duty to inform you that Alpine make nice amplifiers. Dave will try to find you some obscure thing like a Macintosh or a PPI, or maybe an a/d/s. If he does, get what he tells you to as he knows everything there is to know about car audio, as he is a nerdbot 2000.

I pulled this directly off alpine's site, so yes, this is Alpine's 5 channel amp (V12) There is the VPower model but it isn't quite as good.

I guess Alpine's site has the 4 channel info in the 5 channel's page... typical. Alpine can build nice electronics but ask them to make awebsite and they toss out this crap mad

usa.com/pls/admn/item_info1a?p_item_name=MRV-F450&p_category=40&p_subcategory=130&p_main=10

You have to highlight the whole address and paste it to get to the webpage

right now I have a punch 800a2 running two 12 alumapros. But I was thinking of either keeping those and getting a punch 200a4, or 400a4, and components up front and something basic in rears. Or starting over and putting componets up front something basic in doors and getting new subs and running all this with a 5 channel amp. Only 5 channel amp Ive seen in person was the JL. Not a thing wrong with the amp and speakers I have now so thats making the decision tuff. Also for componets I was the thinking the boston acoustic pro's or they have a three speaker set up also. Any ideas or guides in the right direction would help. money wise I dont want to go hog wild but I also dont mind paying for good equipment, and I probably wont be entering any competitions, but I would like a kick a$$ setup. Thanks again guys!

If you already have the sub amp, it may be cheaper to just buy a nice two or 4 channel amp to power the components.

I have a Infinity 5 channel amp that is pretty nice, 50w x 4 + 200w class d sub section. Something is wrong with it though cause it goes into protection when the input voltage gets to 13v. I'll sell it cheap if anyone wants it or anyone have suggestions on fixing it?
