Hi,

Please excuse the lack of detailed data in this post...

I have concerns that my fuel efficiency has been poor since having my fuel lines replaced on 01/16/05.

When I picked up the car, the meter reported around half a tank of gas. This was used up within a couple of days. I filled up the tank (it took 46 litres/12.15 gal) last week.

I brought it back to the garage that performed the repair and they could not indentify any leaks.

After a week of driving my regular routine (daily city/freeway drives to work) my casual observation is that I'm about a quarter of a tank below where I have typically been. During this time I've put on 190KM or so. I have about a quarter or less of a tank left.

I'm a new driver, so I'm unsure if the reduction of fuel efficiency is perception, because of the cold weather (Ottawa, Ontario), or because of the repair. I am inclined to believe that my fuel efficiency is significantly worse.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible for a fuel line replacement to cause a reduction in efficiency without a leak? Could it be an issue with the size of the lines or the pressure as a result of the change? Does the computer need to be reset in order to recalibrate?

Thanks.

i would say it is between the weather and the new fuel lines being new, since they might not be gunked up they are just flowing the proper amount of fuel, and it the cold that will also increase
