The seats in my Mystique have more then passed their prime. The seats backs would need to be completly rebuilt.
I've read by searching that the seats from a 95-97 Contour SE seems to be the better seats available. I can't seem to find many seats in that age range. However, I've found a pair from a 1998 Contour SE. I know that the bolstering was reduced in 1998, but how different would a seat from a 1998 Contour SE be from a 1998 Mystique LS?

Thanks,

Eric...

The best stock seats are supposedly early SE seats. (95 maybe 96)
They were fully manually adjustable (meaning lighter then SVT seats) and had good bolstering.
I've never seen them personally so I'm just going by what I've seen posted here.

You are likely looking at getting any used seats reuphostered.

With that in mind you should price some new aftermarket seats and compare the difference. Aftermarket seats are almost always lighter, better bolstered, and much better built.

Thanks for the information Deamon. I'm sort of hoping not to have anything done to a used stock seat, other then cleaning it.
I've seen some really nice aftermarket seats in the profiles, but in Canada (at least in Montreal, Qc) there doesn't seem to be anybody that carries the "good brands" (like Corbeau or Recaro). I would hate to buy a seat without trying it. (Mind you my first Mystique was bought/leased after just sitting in it at the dealer and I'm up to my third)

Thanks again for the info.
