Not sure but wouldn't this qualify under

Extortion : Illegal use of one's official position or powers to obtain property, funds, or patronage.

Doubt it..

Non paying bidder entered a contract to pay for the item, so they are obligated to pay for the item whether they resell it or not. And ebay warns they are not liable for, and there will be no protections given to transactions done outside of bounds of ebay (such as the transaction between your 2nd account and the non paying bidder). So ebay wouldn't do anything about that. And your 2nd account could just back out of the deal anyway, since it is not a contract, just an offer.

That being said, I bet ebay would frown upon this practice, but I would be surprised if they ever did anything about it.

Wrong... unless theyve changed it within the past couple weeks. The real policy they have is they require a cc IF your email is not a 'verified' email that they trust. Emails that work include @aol, most .edu addresses, mainly stuff you have to pay for to have the email service, they figure if youre paying for that its close enough

A way around both options is to get a walla email (walla.com) For some reason ebay verifies walla emails without a cc or anything. walla is completely free and you can sign up as many times as you want. I believe its a gig storage free too. A great spam or extra email.

I know all about this because ebay used to be the best offer on 'freeipods.com' Flame all you want, but i got my free ipod without paying a dime.

Theres a couple of my cents..

I just sell stuff on half.com, then you don't have to worry about anything.

Ill cut my losses and just leave a negative feedback. If the seller is that concerned about the negative feedback, they can end up paying me anyways, and have the negative feedback revoked.

35 cents?
Umm i had a nonpaying bidder on a labtop and lost like 25 bucks total then had to relist it again...

Yea, listing fee is one thing, ebay commision is another. No matter what you have to pay the listing, if some one jacks up the bidding to something obscene and doesnt pay your out that money.... which can get out of hand if done repeatedly.......
