I let me friend drive my car home last night. He drove it this morning and it started then about noon he said it didnt start. I can hear the fuel pump turn on. Everything works but the engine wont turn over. It makes a Click Click sound when I try and start it. I then tried to kick start it and nothing. I know I needed to change the oil. Does anyone have any ideas. What I should check?
Check your battery voltage, if thats ok then try rocking the car in gear and try starting it agiain. If still no go...then you might have a starter problem and would require removal of the starter for further testing.
you sure he didnt leave the lights on or something? AHH I never let anybody drive my contour.

Yea, double check that, or do a voltage drop test, becuz any small amount of current, or voltage being let off by a short, or anything else, can kill the battery overnight.
good luck.

Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.
I found out it was the starter. I was going to do it myself but if was too diffcult and too many hoses and wires. Its not like my 5.0 mustang. Thanks everyone
Starter is not difficult, though tedious.. it is under alot of stuff, though not many wires or anything... the intake, the battery, and the main coolant hose...
remove/replace, and reverse

I had the starter installed and still didnt start. The starter is engaging because I can hear it. The shop told me it could be the battery cables i had taken the battery tray out and I dont see any thing that could let to the cables. Does anybody have any idea what it could be? I was told to see if the crank turns by putting the car in 3rd gear and rocking the car to turn the crank still nothing.
