They sound good but I had some Memphis PowerReferences before and I still have them in the rear and for the money they sounded just as good or better!! What's everyone elses opinion!!

I liked mine when I had them. I've heard worse and I've heard better for the price. What did you like about the Memphis components?

I have two pairs right now, and they sound good. Like dave said, at the price which you'll will pay, some other speakers might sound better and some might sound worse, it all depends on your preference. One thing to keep in mind is that mb quarts are not very efficient. Mine don't sound nearly as good in my car with my 50x2 phoenix gold amp, as my friend who had the same set running off a ppi A300. what kind of power are you putting to them, and what model quarts are they?

I've got a pair of components, a pair of coaxes, and a pair of subs - all by MB Quart. The highs will numb your head. The mids are non-existent (I am underpowering mine because I have a cheap amp trying to power the comps and coaxes at 4 ohms). The bass is crisp for the millisecond before I hear the entire trunk lid reverberate.

I spent buck on the components and could have done better than the coaxes for the money. I got the subs off uBid. 2 12" Premiums for the price of one wholesale! Boy did I get lucky. And I screwed the fool that bought the pair the night before me.

Keep looking if you aren't gonna buy subs. The components lack a strong mid-level.

You can do much better for the money if you are looking at coaxails. Look at Ifiniti Kappas or Diamond Audio.

If you want Components, you are best to go with a no-name since the big names (MBQ, Focal, Boston) charge an arm and leg and a wing. Plus the position of the speaks in the contique doors is soo low it is like throwing away $50 on an amp with slightly more power.

How much would it cost to get one of those nice Volvo trunk hinges transplanted on my SVT???

Have you put in your $0.02 to save contour.org?? Put in what you can spare to keep the site up. Check the General Forum.

I must say that i do love the way my MB quarts sound. I got the 8" coaxials in my kick panels. Because it's in my kick panels, it doesn't produce much midbass. But i must say with about 100wrms, they produce an extremely large amount of vocals. I'm pretty satisfied with them. But i must agree with most people, you do need a lot of power to make em sound good. Also, due to the fact that it is in the doors, that may, or may not affect the way they sound. It all depends.

I've got the DKD157 discus coaxials. Sounds like I just need to adjust my gains more and lay the beef down on those speakers!! I've got Alpine V12 amp running my speakers inside. So as far as power I don't think I'm lacking in that dept. I like the Memphis PowerReferences because they have almost the same stats and the tweet is adjustable so you can get good imaging!! I'm gonna try putting more power to them to see how it goes. They sound good, don't get me wrong. I guess I was wanting my ear drums to shatter when they were put in!! laugh LOL!! Thanks for the 411 fellas!! While I'm at it, what is everyones thoughts on an EQ???

I just added an audio control 4.1 eq/line driver to my system, and it made a world of difference.

Did your sub blow before or after the addition of the EQ?
