Hey there, I have a friend who is wanting to sell his JET Performance Chip to me, for my 1996 2.5 V6. JET Performance Chip - Ford ContourIt retails for 319.99 and he is asking a mere 100.00. The website claims that this JET Chip can increase horsepower at the wheels by up to 30. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with the JET chip, and if anyone has the cheap 5-10$ knockoffs, and how do they compare. Thanks for the input!

haha, now thats funny.
Dont waste your money. Chances are its not even for your ecu code, so youll have to get it reflashed anyways.

I noticed a slight performance difference with the one that I had, but the fuel mileage went down alot. Its not worth it.

http://www.ridejudge.com/featured/August01/According to that, it has an SVT throttle body. I don't see anything else SVT about it.

if you get any chip programmed by a good tuner, and then dyno it, i'd imagine you could make some modest gains, whether it be from adc, jet, superchips, or diablo. but i believe they are best when put on and tuned AFTER you have modded your car to the extent that you believe you will

I bought a Jet chip for my 98 SVT and I didnt notice anything, in fact I took it out and drove it and I swear the car has better throttle response than it did with the chip in, my advice, by a popsicle, not a chip.
