Ok well ever since I bought my 98 CSVT I have suspected that the speedo was off by a bit because it said I was going faster than it felt. Recently I confirmed it because I bought a GPS that also tracks my MPH and my speedo seems to be off between 6-7 MPH everywhere. I thought that was kinda weird since it is the same amount off no matter how fast I was going so I am kinda confused as to what it could be that is causing that. The only thing I can think off is perhaps the need skipped one of the teeth that it sits in, but I dunno.

Any other suggestions?
Thanks guys

If you have tires that are larger or smaller than stock it can cause the difference.

Yes, but two things.....

First off my tires are still stock size

Secondly, it would not be 6-7 MPH off everywhere it would be a ratio therefore the faster you are going the more MPH it is off

just have the speedo recalibrated, its not that difficult/expensive... My speedo is off by 3 MPH. Doesnt bug me though. Just means when I think im going 35, im actually going 32... Makes it harder to get a speeding ticket

Yea I guess it doesn't really bother me that much and I know how much it is off....but i just figured if it was something easy to fix I would do it that way it was accurate again.

Thanks for the input

If it is off by the same amount all the time, then just adjust the needle. It's when it's off by a few % (relative to speed) that you have to recalibrate, such as with non-stock tires.

Yea I figured that I would just adjust the needle if I ever get some ambition. Its way too cold here right now to even think of working on my car.
