Great, does that pertain to our platform? No! So therefore, I don't care!

Ford/Mazda.

No they don't. Nobody makes them.
That's the entire point.

Then this must be a figment of my imagination:

Broken down, it is an adjustable cam sprocket controlled by a oil control valve which is controlled by the ECU. From Ford/Mazda it offers a wide change of duration.

And neither did a 3.0 in a Contour until someone tried it.

Sure, it could be done. Swap in the whole 3.0L from the 6, to include the wireness etc etc etc. And how does it really benefit us? I don't think the rewards outway the cost IMO. Maybe in another 5 years....

Does it change the duration, or the timing of the lift? It seems like it would only control the timing of the lift unless it slows down (or speeds up) the camshaft for a portion of a revolution, which would probably cause NVH issues, as well as being difficult to do. And, do you have any other pictures?

I'm sure you could make a control box for those cam gears. It would just be a big pain in the butt.... and probably make for a fun time tuning the car.

i wouldnt imagine that it would be easy to tune the car with the cam gears. thats 4 cams you have to have set just right. seem like a lot of time and work to me.

Awhile back I ran some numbers, an oval port with SVT cams and the actuator on the intake cams, made for some very interesting numbers.

It would be easier to tune your intake cams through a computer, with the car running, than with it off and a set of tools and a special designed valve cover/cam cover so you can have access to the adjustable sprockets.

The actuator is only for the intake cams.
