You should know that spray on sound deadener is not as good as applying the sheets. Spray on sound deadener was originally designed for plastic and to deaden higher frequencies (bass and higher).

i am tired of applying sheets. i put sheets on a most critical areas and want to spray the rest. It still should be better than nothing - it will add to matherial thickness.

Anything that will add mass will help higher freq rattles and the like. So, the spray on stuff will help, it just doesn't have the effectiveness of an asphalt based sheet of sound deadener.
