I'm in the process of replacing the front struts. Question is, I had H&R springs put on 40,000 mi ago and place that did it had writing on spring upside down. Now, when i replace strut and re-install it seem that the best way to fit spring is with writing up. Does it matter which way the spring goes on as long as its seated properly in the grooves? Thanks

I don't ever recall hearing if the writing pertains to upside down or right side up? I put my H&R's in with the writing right side up.....so I could read the writing I'd say as long as it's in the perches properly you'd be fine. I'm sure some of the "experts" will chime in

I don't know H&R springs. If they have the same space between each steps, if they are not progressive you can install them in any sens.

Nic.

i just put in eibachs and they went in with the letter upside down and i had no problems. the rears are easy to tell wich way they go. when it comes to the front the end that has the coil end closer to its previous coil goes to the bottom i believe. just do it in relation to the rear springs. put the rear springs with the bigger side to the bottom and see how the letters are and go according to that.
