i've been thinking about upgrading to an SUV. i like the land rover freelander alot. you dont see too many on the road, like contours. have a little individuality like contours and it seems like a very nice truck with tons of features, and mroe room for the 2 year old. if anyone has an experiences or comments on them, they would be greatly appreciated

the model i am looking at is a 2002. black HSE with navi, alpaca beige leather, sunroof, harmon/kardon sound, and heated seats. it has 41000 on it

the freelander has a 2.5 liter V6 engine with a similiar output to our contours. i know land rover is a ford product. think this is the same or updated engine as the duratech

It has a Mitsubushi V6, IIRC. Sweet little SUV, other than that.

No. It is from the K-Series engine series from Land Rover. I'd save the $ and get an Escape. Unless you are getting one heck of a deal.

The Mercury is the nicest one of the bunch. That'd be my pick.
If money was in my pocket though - I'd get the Land Rover Sport.

im honestly not a big ford fan. contours are the only ford i've ever liked. that being said, i love my contour. and also, i originally posted in general and in common interest and this thread was moved to here. sorry for taking up precious web space. some of you guys seriously get worked up over this stuff like its your own damn message board. get off my back
