Hello. My daughter bought a 95 contour with the 2.5L. She had the CEL light come on and took it to the dealer to find the codes. The KOEO codes are: 176,177,332,542 and 543. The KOER codes are 172 and 332. They said the DPFE needs to be replaced. Any help would be appreciated.

176 (M) Oxygen sensor not switching - system is or was lean Left or Front HO2S - fuel control

177 (M) Oxygen sensor not switching - system was rich Left or Front HO2S - Fuel control

332 (R,M) EGR did not open/respond during test or if memory code, did not open intermittantly (EGR CLEANING!)

542 (O,M) Fuel pump open, bad ground or always on - - Power / Fuel Pump Circuits

543 (O) Fuel pump monitor circuit shows no power - Power / Fuel Pump Circuits
(M) (Service 556 code first if present) Fuel pump relay or battery power feed was open - Power / Fuel Pump Circuits (check your fuel pump fuses and relays) Both 542 and 543 are related

172 (R,M) Oxygen sensor not switching - system is or was lean - Single, Right or Rear HO2S - Fuel control

332 (R,M) EGR did not open/respond during test or if memory code, did not open intermittantly - EVR or PFE (yet again your EGR needs to be cleaned)

Does this mean I need to replace the O2 sensors and clean the EGR?

Thats what it looks like... Oh and before I forget, WELCOME TO CEG! I hope I have helped you in trying to figure out whats goin on with the contour. I say you total out to about 2 hours of work.

Thank you. I did get a chance to look down the intake when I relaced the waterpump. The manifold internals look like they have not been taken care of in years, really nasty with buildup. I am going to pull them and clean them, so I'll get the EGR at the same time.
