I have 2 Cerwin Vega HED-10 DVC subs in a dual sealed box powered by a Rockford 300S 2 channel amp.

Right now they are wired in series on each side of the box, then wired to each channel of the amp.

If I redid the wiring in the box and ran them in Parrallel instead of series like they are now. Would I get better sound quality or would they just be alot louder?

BTW my amp "should" be 2ohm stable.

The testing certificate says and I quote....

Model- Punch 300S
Test impedance- 2ohms
Test B+ Voltage- 14.059 Volts DC

Actual Total Power- (All channels driven into full power at 2ohms) 292 watts

There should be no change in sound quality as long as woofer is still within spec.

When bridging or running an amplifier in its max pwer mode, in your case 2Ohm mono, you reduce the headroom of the amplifier. The amp is drawing a higher % of amperage from it's power supply. So, taking away the reserve power results in an amp that is always working at like 80% for example, and can't accurately reproduce a wide dynamic range== Less Headroom for dynamic peaks of bass or any material for the matter.

This is my 0.02, and what I have been taught and living by.

Good Luck,

Chris

I rewired my amp with the help and advise of a little stereo shop in TN. when I went to go visit my mother.
I had mine hooked up + from on side of the amp to the- of the other sidethen just ran the + from that woofer to the + of the other woofer then - to -. Damn amp kept going out. This guy told me it was a problem with the Ohms.
He advised me when I bridge my amp to run the wire thats supposed to be positive to the positive side of one woofer, then the wire thats supposed to be negative to the negative side of the other woofer, Then run a piece of speaker wire and connect the positive and negative that arent being used yet.
So since my amp was still under warranty, I tried it. I'm very happy with the outcome and now my amp doesnt shut itself off after long periods of time when I'm listening to my stereo.

BTW, I think RF amps are stable to 2 ohms stereo and 4 ohms mono(bridged). Correct? Hey Chris(ItsnSE), whats happening? Ready to get a meet together? laugh
