Hi All,
I am currently trying to drop the subframe for my 98 Mystik, in order to get at the power steering hoses up behind.
The Haynes manual says I have to disconnect the shift linkages however what is described in the haynes manual doesn't seem to be what is in my car! From the pictures in the haynes manual they are talking about "rod" type linkages, and I have cable type links.
There are two of them, one with a plastic white end, and one with a plastic black end. Both have these orange spring-loaded "buttons" on them. I assume that depressing these buttons and twisting or pulling the cable in some way will disconect them, however they're either siezed, or require more force than I'm willing to apply without knowing for sure.
The other option would seem to be to just try prying them off of the metal shift levers on the tranny it's self. I'm worried it might not go back together again afterwards though...
I am suspicious that for what I intend to do, I may not have to remove these anyways, but.... the haynes manual couldn't possibly be wrong .. ha!

Thanks in advance!!
