I have an ATX Cougar:( im planning on buying a late model 99 svt engine. I plan on getting the UIM EH, and getting it port matched to the LIM. Plan on getting a CAI. MSDS Headers + Y pipe. Custom Exhaust with no cat 2.5" piping all the way to the rear(no mufflers also) ADC Chip, SVT radiator, electric water pump, underdrive pullies, and eventually a 75 shot of nitrous. Could someone tell me the approxiate gains with and without the nitrous. I wont bother posting the tranny upgrades, but they will be the usuall tranny cooler and a few level 10 products.

without nitrous you probably would run mid-low 15s!
if your serious about going fast, convert your car to a mtx
this is coming from someone who heavily modded an atx, only to convert to a mtx a few months later.

yea i have currently a gutted interior, and hatch so that saves me 150 lbs. while doing the swap id like to relocate theh battery for better weight distribution and get rid of the AC compressor. I love the styling and looks of the cougar it just needs more speed and power. i know many people on here will tell me to go 3l but i dont want to spend the 1000's necessicary for thats. if anyone else could give me some estimated power or 1/4 times id appreciate it.

My Mystique, bone stock (O/D was on too ) ran a 16.8 @ 83mph. Unfortunately, it is an auto too... As I found out after I went to the track, turning O/D off makes the car go into a "sport mode" I've played around with it a little and it does seem to help. This spring we'll see how much better it really does. Your car stock would run about that... As Russel said, a mid to low 15 with those mods wouldn't be too hard. Someone posted a while ago and said their ATX/V6 contour put down 155hp to the wheels (Or somewhere around there) They had similar mods as you suggested.

well, to be honest to get a 3L hybrid up and running, with competent help (so ive been told) is about a two week process. the 99 3L will hit ya about 500-650 and then after that, and swapping the 2.5L heads, and some port work, youll be set to go. mounts, everything will bolt up! the only problem i have heard of would be 1 sensor...dont recall which one, but i plan on building myself a 3L hybrid with SVT heads, cams, and timing gear.
people who know, correct me if im wrong!

My dyno numbers where 157.57hp at the wheels and 156.11 torque. My car was hot after all the computer tuning runs so he had me figure atleast 5-7hp more when cool. That would be around 162 or so at the wheels.

with the hybrid id be spending around 1500 dollars for the heads alone, to get the P-n-Ped! For that price i could get the whole svt engine, intake pleniums, throttlebody, gaskets and ecu.

You'll probably need some 19lb injectors (or just make sure you get those w/ your SVT engine). I'd bet you can get in the 14s with NO2.

3L w/ all the goodies + ATX = MTX Swap in near future! thats what my story was. with my torque converter messed up (i had a no-name company raise the stall speed, you get what you pay for) 4 bad o2 sensors, bad egr, bald snow tires, messed up roll resistors, STOCK SINGLE EXHAUST, i ran a 15.02 @ 91mph fastest n/a ATX time, and the car had alot more in it too, definetaly woulda hit mid 14s easily with everything fixed and a good exhaust thats a 3L hybrid, PnP heads w/ 3L valves, svt uim and lim, MSDS headers, 65mm throttle body, lighting MAF and HUGE filter, 1mm overbore, etc lots of mods, really bad times! my car is a mtx now
