driving home today, the light came on for no apparent reason. No rain or puddles ect. Anyways, defintely a loss in power. Got home, disconnected the battery, started her up and the light off. Anyone had this done, searched for a while, thinking maybe the MAF sensor needs a clean, 98 CSVT 2.5 85K miles.

Well just took her for a drive to see if it came back on, it didn't, but for some reason feels faster than normal? I love it though. Man this car is great, apart from the rough tranny.

If the light comes back on, go have the codes read before posting again.

There are dozens of reasons a CEL can come on, without the actual codes we can be of no help.

Well mine hasn't come back on yet. Stupid me erased the codes by reseting the ECU so the shop couldn't check the memory.

Seems to be running fine now though. touch wood.

I'm fighting my CEL too and I have a code p0401 which is insufficient EGR flow. And the wierd part is that I replaced all EGR pieces and the damn CEL is still on! Good luck.

Highly suggest you do a SEARCH on this. The P0401 is often NOT caused by a part that is defective.

Sounds like you've been to AutoZone...
