Before ripping into the fuel system, make sure your IAC and throttle body are clean. They're common culprits in idle problems; there's FAQ info on this topic.

It would be extremely rare for a fuel pump to cause idle problems. When the fuel pump is failing it is much more common to have a severe loss of power on hard acceleration.

Nope, we've got a 130A alternator. I think it's a lot, but is awesome... I remember my Cadillac had an optional hi output one @ 100A.
120A is pretty close to 130A...

If you are idling at 600 i wouldn't worry to much about it as long as it is smooth. Mine idles around 750 and is perfectly normal from what i understand. Or maybe my car has something wrong with it as well...

v6 duratec MTX is hard-coded at 0750rpm idle.
ATX is slightly lower..

Thanks for all the replies, alot of weight lifted off my shoulders.
The car is great fun, 2nd and 3rd gears are great fun. Have an open elemnt filter/intake and the sound with the exhaust is fantastic.
I guess the plans are next week are to put 4 tockiko shocks on and maybe some sway bars, and some OZ superleggeras.
At one point today however, a couple of times the car didn't want to go into any gear at all. Turned the car off and started up again, then went in, anyone else have this occur to them?

Dont quote me but I dont think Tokico makes any struts for our car. Go with some KONI's instead.
BTW, Welcome to CEG and enjoy the SVT. Take care of it.

Yeah last weekend I went into a liquor store and came out to drive my friends home to find out my car wouldnt start. I had some guy give me a jump and wouldnt give it any juice. We gave it a running start in 2nd gear. I needed a oil change the next day and the dude said I fried a cell in my battery. So I got a new battery. About a year ago my car would go low on power and found out I needed the alternator replaced. So I have brand spanking new battery and a relatively new alternator. My lights flicker when I play the louder music, but I thought with a new batt. it should provide more juice. Before and after the battery swap, the lights continue to flicker when I turn on my car at night. They do it about 4-5 times till the lighting stays. It almost looks like BMW high tech lamps adjusting themselves with those ultra suave sensors. Although I wish

My Mystique ZETEC's lights dim when its cold at night after a start, and I don't think my lights dim when I'm playing loud music but the lights on the head deck for my stereo do(esp. with a lot of bass, it almost pulses to the beat its kinda cool)anyhow, welcome to CEG Arsenal, hope that CSVT treats you good and hope you treat it good.

Defintely plan on treating it good. Did a oil change and transmission fluid yesterday. Have a problem though,
When I come to a stop, it is soemtimes hard to get into any gear. Have to let off and on the clutch a few times for it to go in. Someone mentioned that the splines which the clutch plate slides on could be dry, is there any way to grease it without dropping the trans? It works fine when rolling.
Also ont he highway, around 70-80, if I have the AC on I can feel the car sort of lurch when the compressor kicks in, anyone?
