On this very cold snowy Michigan afternoon I have decided to clean my UIM and thottle body using the non removal methods. I started to take the vacuum line out to measure the hose I would need, when the line snapped a few inches down. The plastic was too damn brittle in the cold. Here's a couple pictures:
Having problems, here.

I tapped the manifold side to seal so it wouldn't stall. I have a couple questions. Can I drive it a little so I can get the tube I need to do the cleaning? And, What is the correct name, or part number I need? Lastly, what would be the best way to fix it?

huh yeah right. Well it's drivable, I know that know. Didn't throw a CEL either. What is the purpose of the line?

Also I think you may be able to splice it with a length of the appropriate diameter of fuel hose. As long as you can get a tight fit from the vacuum line outside diameter and the hose inside diameter you should be fine.

It is a vacuum line. One of the two goes to the power brake booster so without it the brakes would have an extremely firm pedal. I han't traced the other, but I would guess that it provides vacuum for the heater controls and the like. You need them.

Yeah you are right about the brakes. I didn't think it could be connected but I guess I was wrong. That's kind of a relief. I will try to splice it with something, but if you look at the pictures, you can see the two sides are different sizes... Thanks a lot both of you.
