Just installed a 95 2.5 in a 96. When i try and start it there is no spark. The engine ran when it was in the 95. I changed all sensors and the top of the intake from the 96 engine on to the 95 engine. I never heard the 96 run. The timing chain was broken when i bought the car and the top half of the motor was in the trunk.
What controls the spark? Cam sensor? Crank sensor? All fuses are good. Fuel pump is working when i crank it. CEL is on when cranking.
I scanned it and the only code that comes up is oxygen sensor heater out of range.

Grounding problem?

There is a braided ground wire that attaches to one corner of the coil pack at one of the mounting bolt locations. Double check the coil pack too.

Got the ground on there. I used the 95 coil. Would the coils be different from 95 and 96. I had planned to change the coils when i get a chance.

Use your 96 coil. Be sure of the firing order, two of the coil leads are not a direct plug in to the cylinder layout - #5 and #6 are switched IIRC.

Found the problem. One of the 3 large wire loom plugs on the right rear side of the engine, was not plugged in all the way.
