This is not a problem unique to Contours; just more aggravating than most. Seems as tho most drivers keep all windows shut, maybe breathe too much & fog up the windows. Check out the young-sweet-things driving Neons; its a wonder they can see at all.

When cars had vent windows, this was rarely a problem. Opening the driver's window a bit does promote air circulation within the vehicle to release trapped humidity but so does running the defroster (cycles the air conditioner to dry the air).....my$.02.....

I seem to have a real problem with this in the summer. The inside will start to fog up, I'll put the defroster on to take care of it. If I leave it on too long, the outside starts to get foggy and wet. I'll shut the defrost off and a few minutes later the inside starts foggin again. I'm not talking a long time either. I'm 15 minutes from home to work and I'll have this cycle 4 or 5 times. It doesn't matter if the a/c is on or the windows are open. Same crap. I had the same problem with my 97 SE Sport. Any way to solve this??

Your cabin filter is probably full of water, it will fog up the windows realy fast, that happen to me, I remove it and the fog went away.

It's a problem with the climate control system for me. I have a 1999 SE Sport Duratec. My windows would get so wet that the water would drip off the winshield in the summer and would freeze into ice in the winter. My problem is that I was leaving the mode switch on the climate control in any position except off. When I finally got smart enough to turn my climate control to off before I exited the car, my windows never fogged or iced again.
