I just bought a pair of Cerwin Vega HED-10 DVC 10" subs and a sealed box. What should I look for in the amp to power these? I didn't buy an amp yet because I can't afford both so I will get an amp this weekend after Payday.

The specs say they can handle 150W RMS 4Ohms/coil.

Also how should I wire these up? Parallel or series?

Thanks in advanced for all your help.

I'd wire them the VC's on each sub in series (creating an 8ohm sub). Then, I'd wire them in parallel to the amp for a 4ohm mono load.

I'd then go with a 2ch amp and operate it in bridged mode. There are many, many out there to choose from.

What are you looking to spend?

That sounds like a nice logical way to wire these up. AS for the amp, I work at Best Buy so I get a good deal on the stuff they sell. Mostly it is just a couple of Rockfords, Sony's, Jensen's (On a clearance now, new models coming out.) Then some lightning's too.
I was thinking about $150-200 for a price range. (so money goes a little farther through work.)

What kind of power range would be good for these 2 subs?

Well, you don't want something that puts out much more than 600x1 at 4ohms (same thing as 300x2 @2ohm or roughly 150x2 @4ohms), or you'll risk overpowering your subs.

Out of those four, I'd probably go with RF. I haven't got any idea which models BB carries, so I can't help ya out there.

I have the sony 150x2 pushing my DVC right now, if you wired it right you could pull about 300 per channel in a 2 ohm load.

bought an amp today. It is a rockford 300s. I know it is not a huge amp and that the subs could take more, but I think it will be fine for what I want it for. Today after work was spent installing the wiring kit. I need to wire up the subs in the box and mount the amp still. That will get done sometime this weekend.

What is the best way to mount the amp in our trunks?
