I went to a local junkyard and picked up a rear dome light from the earlier year contiques and was wondering how hard it will be to install, such as what will have to be done like dropping the headliner or what not. it only cost me like $3 so if it doesn't go in it doesn't bother me too much but i just feel the back is too dark. Thanks for the help.

No pics here, but it's pretty easy to do. Just find the cutout in the metal behind the headliner, start cutting near the center out to the edges and use the edge as a guide so you don't cut too much out. You don't need to pulll the headliner out, just remove the two pushpins in the rear and carefully pull it down a bit.

Screw it, the moonroof makes things damn complicated, it'd be easier to drop the liner then run wires with a coat hanger.

Dude, before you go to that trouble, just run the wires from the rear dome light over to the driver's side of the roof, run them forward above the doors, and to the A-pillar. Then, just splice the wires into the front dome light wires where they run up the A-pillar (and then over to the front dome light.) That's how the factory does it. I just pulled the rear dome light wires fron the junkyard car and ran them like they were in the wrecked car. If you're careful, you can even pull out the wire clips to hang them back on. Having a moonroof was no problem.

There are three wires, always hot, time delay, and ground. Pull the front dome light out, check colors, and find and splice into the correct wires near the A-pillar. If you pull the harness out with the dome light from the junked car, you should have the correct color codes to look for right there. (They may have changed colors, I don't recall for sure.) HTH.

Hello<

I finally did this mod, and I have a sunroof! It was very easy pulling off the gasket around the sunroof and running the wire back that way.
I know because I tried to run it along the a pillar with no luck.
Also having a fish tape works real good, thread from the sunroof to the rear of the car, seems to work easier.
I'd be happy to take a pic or explain how to do it, it's simple once you do it once and learn how to do it. Plus I can give you a dimension to cut the hole, it is midway between the mushroom caps and forwards toward the front of the car a few inches.
Also use rubber disposible gloves, cut a small hole and stick your finger in there to feel the edges of the metal "box".
Simple and glad I did it. Oh, I also wire nutted my stuff together in the front dome light. Hey I got 2 of these dome lights for sale on ebay!
