My buddy has a bunch of redline and he said I could have some. Will this work well in my trasmission? (1998 CSVT 5 speed) and if so what mix should I use?

Yes... it's been below 0° (Fairenheit) for 2 days now (was -15°F this morning) with wind chills of around -20° thru -35°F. The tranny with MTL in there doesn't seem to like me moving the shifter around...

sorry to hijak.

what do you use to fill in the redline into tranny? The container doesn't fit any of the pumps or tube assemblies in the auto stores since it's smaller than usual tranny fluid bottles.
i figure i'll just get a clean tube to get some extension.. but maybe you guys have found something that works?
even the lucas cap that comes in cone shape is too big..

my autostores didn't ahve the cheap pump thing.. otherwise use a siphon?? pita..

thanks

Make sure it's Redline MTL or MT-90 ONLY!!!

MTL is the preferred of those two but either work just fine.

DO NOT add any type of other "gear oil" as it is not compatible with the soft metal in a manual transmission.

That's surprising.

All here (3 national chains) have the same small $4 hand pump by the gear oil & lube section.

I pour in from the top with a nylon tube but my battery is not there either so...

I did mine with the battery there. Works like a charm.

I had Redline MTL in my tranny for about 2k if that and it is complete garbage in the cold. My car didn't want to go into 2nd ever if it was about 20 degrees outside. I have now switched to ATF+4 and so far am a bit more impressed.

I am back... had a loaded 95 SE ATX... now I have a 98 Black SVT.
