On my '95 Contour, the wipers will no long work in any mode. Also, the washers will not squirt when the selector switch is pulled back. No other problems are showing, I checked all other accessories, (defrost, lights, etc.), they work fine. This just came out of nowhere!! Is this a sign of relay problem, circuit breaker, or the timing module??? Appreciate any advice before I check into the problem tomorrow. Happy New Year!!!

okay, CEG: Does the clock spring feed the wipers, too?

as another option:
Check in your owners manual (if you have one) for which fuse operates the wipers.. the fuse box is located underneath the dash, on the driver's side, right about where your knee is, when you are sitting in the seat. There is a little lever that you pull down to get the fuse box to swing open (downward) for access...

a bad wiper motor could make it not work in any mode, as well. The wiper motor is, obviously, underneath the plastic cowl that runs the length of the windshield, on the outside. Removal of the windshield wipers themselves are required to remove the cowl.

I suspect your switch. Do check the fuses first though.

I had the same problem...it was the relay(green one)under the dash.Didn't even have to replace it,took it out, took it apart, put it back together and put it back in...worked fine ever since!!

Turned out the circuit breaker for the motor was tripped. I would assume that it should have reset on its own, but didn't. We've just went through a lot of ice problems here. I pulled the breaker out, kind of squeezed it together, and heard a definite 'click'. I checked for continuity, put it back in the fuse panel and the motor works in all modes along with the squirters.

thanks for the assist,
tj
