My highest mixed mpg (city/highway) has been 27. I usually set my cruise at 80-85 mph. I've been making a lot of highway runs to visit a certain lady friend who lives out of town.  ------------------ P. My last trip two weeks ago from PA to NC, I managed 32mpg, about 450 miles on 14 gallons. I actually put 14.1 gallons in the tank. The 'Tour has a 15 gallon tank, but they say there's a reserve amount of fuel in the tank. I have;
2000 SE V6 MTX I used Sheetz gasoline I drove ~78mph on cruise south on rt's 81 and 77

I'm stuck with using reformulated gas(only 90% useable fuel) and winter city is about 18-20, summer city is 22 or so. Highway is about 26 tops on reformulated. On non-reformulated gas I get about a 10% jump on the above numbers. No one said a V-6 5-speed Contour was going to be easy on fuel. BTW, this is about the same numbers I got on my Neon R/T, (4-cyl 2.0 litre, 5-speed) but that car used premium. Cheers, Rick.
