Hey Guys, so been busy working on my project and I installed the Quaife over the weekend but am having a pretty big problem. I put the Quiafe together with the 3.84 ring and the speedo gear and the new bearings. I installed the new bearing cups and the Quaife had some play so I got the SMALLEST shim that I had in shim pack which I measured at .040", put it in, bolted up the tranny, torqued it down. And it wouldn't spin what-so-ever. So I took it apart and one of the bearings had not fully seated for some reason, bottomed it out, bolted it in, and it spun like butter even with the bearings dry. I measured about .003" of side play in the differential, and was happy with that since I don't want it to bind up when things start to heat up.
So, happy with that I bolted in the input and output shafts and my new fangled shift forks and put it back together along with putting some ATF on everything. Didn't fill it up, but enough lube for testing.
After putting in the input and output shafts though I now have a problem. I can spin the input and output shafts no problem by hand when the tranny is in neutral, but if I engage a gear with the shift tower. Everything binds up. So no having the spline socket, I put my clutch disk on there for a little more leverage and got it to spin, albeit grudgingly. And, when it does spin, there is a DEFINITE clicking/thunking/binding sound between the differential and the output shaft, and it spins in "steps" as though it's binding between gear teeth.
Is it possible that the 3.84 gear is binding up with the output shaft? Anyone have a similar problem. Also, on a side note, there was a shim already on one of the differential bearing cups, that although I didn't measure, would guess to be around .025", which of course, I lost somewhere in the trash.

Help me out here guys, please. Thanks a million.
