Several financial analyses have shown that once the purchase price and battery replacement costs are factored in, hybrid vehicles are not an economically superior choice to conventional vehicles.

Unless you are just trying to help the environment along...
You have to figure in that we will be paying $3 a gallon in the not too distant future as well...
Then, go look at the price of a fully loaded V6 (non-hybrid) Accord, and this one looks even better.

Why is everyone tounting 37MPG as so great? My dad's CRX HF got 45 in town and 55 on the highway. Of course, it doesn't have 255HP, but for me to buy a hybrid it would have to do alot better. Look at the other hybrids out there that are really slow that still couldn't beat his CRX in MPG. Hell, even my old Mazda 323 got 40 on the highway. More than 10 years has gone by since he had that car and I haven't the great value of hybrids yet.

Lets see.... CRX vs Accord....
Well, there is the capacity for hauling people and cargo, Accord is a luxury car compared to the CRX, the 255 HP that will leave you grinning..... what's not to like (or understand that at 37 MPG highway, it's impressive)?

not to mention the resale value. they also speculate that in five years the technology will have improved making these cars less desireable and therefore near worthless.
the mileage is good and dont forget the advantage of belonging to that special sect of owners who mostly only include the beautiful Hollywood people.

I realize they are two completely different cars. It's just doesn't seem to me that they are the best thing since sliced bread. I think they are WAY over-hyped, that's all. It's hard to get what I'm trying to say across when typing.
