This doen't seem to fit the description. I replaced the IAC in October (Duratec V6), everything worked fine. Since it's gotten colder, I occasionally suffer from increased idle speed (to 2k) only when the engine is warm. When the engine is cold, it's fine. It clearly feels like something is switching on and off, causing idle speed to change. The effect is random as far as I can tell. The higher speed lasts 5-10 seconds, then back to normal. Nothing I do seems to affect it one way or another. And, being a Contour, of course it's accompanied by an odd noise. It almost feels like the fans are kicking on and off. Anybody get this one?
