I am trying to install a new HD. I have everything wired up but there is no sound. Is it required that I bypass the factory amp? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like you haven't hooked up the turn-on lead for the factory amp. You're better off bypassing it.

No, but you will be much happier when you do. Crutchfield sells the harness for $20-ish, IIRC. I got mine about two days after I called them. Very simple to install.....even for an idiot like me wink
