Sorry, but like I said before and in the FAQ's... I got that directly from the Ford Service CD and all I did was explain it a little.
As for why Ford (and it's not just Ford by the way, it is every OBD-II equiped vehicle) would do this, makes perfect sense. It's a hint that there is something wrong with the transmission and the easiest way to determine the root of the problem is too hook the car to a good scanner and read the data streams for the tranny while driving the car around. Oh yeah! While you are driving the car around and the fault occurs, it will have a code for you to read that will help you narrow your search a little bit, as to which data streams to monitor more closely.
