I read in an other post that someone had a low and rough idel and then changed the catalytic converter and it went
away so I have the some problem and I have tried everything
else but every place I go they want to charge $200 or above and it is a universal cat. Is it this much or is someone tring to take me for a ride?

$200 is about right, I wouldnt be replacing it unless I had a code for it. Have your done everything else to try to fix your rough idle.

Injectors that are dirty an cause it, IAC valve yeah that can to, vacuum leak also would, probaly a lot more to.

But.. the main catalytic converter doesn't give a code.

$200 is a little high (but not out of the park), pick yourself up one from CTA motorsports for like $60 and just get it welded on.. shouldn't be too much.

CTA Motorsports has universal cats for $79 up to 2.5" ID, I would go with one of those and eliminate the stock one (which is why you posted this of course), that way you can eventually get an exhaust header without too many issues...

The CTA converters are high flow:

"Car Sound (Magnaflow) High Flow Universal Catalytic Converters
High Flow Universal Converters flow so efficiently, motorsport's enthusiasts can enjoy better performance and do their share for cleaner air. Replaces main catalytic converter.
Meets all CARB requirements. Available for all makes and models. Other converters also available."

What year Zetec do you have ? I wasn't able to find a cat cheaper than the $600 ford one for my '97...
