Yesterday, i got a speaker wire thru existing harness for rear doors - as you can see from the pic - i drilled a hole in a center of the harness with 1/4 bit and got wire thru. Of cause all the wiring for windows works fine

You mean to tell me that that's a big connector for the wiring harness that goes into the doors? I havent gotten to that part of my install yet and I thought that was just a large gromet like on every other car on the planet, but evidentaly not! I'm starting to hate this car more every day. How much wattage will the factory wiring in the doors support?Looks like I'll be using it instead of running my own wiring like I originaly planned. There is no way I'm drilling through that connector to run wire, not on a brand new car! Thats just asking for a denial of warranty on anything pertaining to the electrical system in the doors! Damn I'm pissed!!! mad mad Why is this info. not in the FAQ section? If I had known this I would have never started this project to begin with. mad

I doubt your dealer would ever notice the wiring. Take a look at the pic, the wiring would be invisible, and the dealer isn't going to go looking for it either. Drill out the center. If everything still works it will be fine. When you are done with the car you can pull the wire back out and nobody will know the difference. I'm guessing this isn't in the faq section because it was just posted this morning wink

The only way I see you having any problems is if you messed up and broke the harness while drilling, so if you are careful and patient there won't be a problem smile DO IT!!! laugh

Side note - if you want a really nice looking hole done - use dremel, drill bit goes fine thru black center but when you touch white plastic it makes sound like plastic goes to crack now. So probably your best way is to cut the center out with a small bit and extend that hole with dremel.

It's a knukoncept's wire, i not sure how many ga is it. It's 25$ for 4ga kit - that's a half of phoenix gold's price. I did the front doors - drivers side was the fun one. I drilled thru metal and started pushing wire inside - after i pushed in 12 feet of cable - there was still no trace of it inside.

my install page (under construction)
