Um, I'm guessing he's got the bulbs that the reflectors were designed for: halogen. Why doesn't he need to 'have something' in order to have a valid point?
If people choose to put hid kits in their car that's their choice, but that still doesn't make it a good idea. There's countless automotive lighting sites out there that will tell you the same, people do it for an 'upgrade' but the science doesn't back it up.
Considering the Contour housings don't have projectors and the stock (or any replacement) bulbs suck there are not many options are there? I have 6000K HID kit on my car and have never been flashed. Gotta aim them right first off, but then again that is any light. The output isn't bad, and actually lights up just as good as the Contours with projectors and HIDs (just ask Roger aka TheStripedSVT). The pattern may not be as "fluid" but there a definite improvement. For people to put another person down =

Until you have seen.......do not comment. Just because something is said by an "expert" on the internet doesn't mean it is right. I go by my own experience.

The glare is way too much! You need to block the BOTTOM side of the HID light bulb; this will reduce the glare immensely. BUT it will not be perfect. By blocking this, the mirror in the headlight on the underside (that reflects upward) will be dimmed. I have HIDs in the 6 (with halogen projectors), and have done much research on this glare topic. Modifications were made to the 6's projector to cut down glare. I very much recommend a HID projector retrofit, as it will improve your light output tremendously. Oh and don't forget to re-aim! Think about the other drivers! This is what my camera took to demonstrate glare: and after a modification:
Mazda 6S, V6, Speed Yellow
5 Speed, Sport package
Bose audio

i have seen many, many retrofits where it was done right and where it was done incorrectly, just like yours and this one. i cannot believe that you are taking our contructive criticism as "heresay" and whatnot.
and yes, mmarfan gave a valuable idea as well. this is called a "casper shield" which also helps greatly to cut down on glare, but not perfectly fixing the problem.
please, please, please realize that my comments are not flames, trash talking, etc. i have done tons and tons of research on this topic and know what is right and what is not right. and yet again..simple as that. to me, since this mod directly affects other people who cannot escape from it, there is only one, correct way to do this= a retrofit that is designed to handle the extreme output of HID bulbs.

You've expressed your opinion repeatedly. I think everyone gets the point.

xenons blind in general, weather you have projectors or not. Hell when I drive past a BMW or Audi, I have to rub my eyes to get back to normal vision and I bet all you do that as well. Xenons will blind people no matter what they are in or if they are retrofits whatever..If you have xenons, adjust them lower. Just don't think you have xenons and aim them high and kill everyone. there is no good xenon, you'll blind people anyways weather your in an Audi or BMW. I see no problem in having a HID conversion kit in a contour headlight housing. I'm getting a pair really soon and once I do, I'll be aiming them quite low.

I've seen hector's, Stripped, and Dominate's HID's. I didn't think the glare was any worse than other cars with HID's.

"Picture left taken at Ankle and Right at Waist" This Dub has projectors and standard sheild for the cutoff. I think that your actual lights may be too high still judging how his HIDs don't affect the camera at the waist let alone eye level. Your Lens job looks better now
