My normally reliable 1999 Contour 4 cyl ATX equipped workhorse finally got stuck for the first time ever. At 168,000+ miles. Auto trans fluid left a dark abrupt streak for 1500 ft up to the point it stopped moving.

Towed home to find the clean empty cylnder hanging down by the left side front wheel/susp. Is this the Servo Seal?
Just started looking into it tonight.

Round cylinder 2 1/2- 3" diameter inside has a step to reduce diameter . Something came out along with most of the fluid.

Any info is appreciated.
