I bought a 95 Contour SE the first year they were out and my son still drives it...great car. Then I bought a 95 LX MTX 6 cylinder that unfortunately had a water pump go out while son was driving it and that was it...

Now I'm the proud owner of a 99 SVT, bought yesterday. It's Green with tan interior, 30,000 miles...chrome svt wheels...perfect.

Of course, today I found myself sitting at the light with a Honda S2000 and had to show off a bit...smoked him and then we hit a second light...this time he was ready and got off first while i was looking at the car next to me on the other side...still i almost caught him.

fun stuff, this is....

Only bad thing is the stereo is a bummer. totally bad...any thoughts on just replacing speakers or does the whole thing have to go? I'm not looking to bump it, just some nice crisp sounds.

I found that the stock speakers in my 95 LX were more than sufficent when I replaced the head unit. I put in a Kenwood KDC-5xxx?, and found that greatly improved the quality output.

I replaced the stock CD player after it started with that endless spinning nonsense.

Got a Pioneer DEH 3100, or something similar, nothing really fancy. Sound improvement was a big surprise. I had the "premium" Ford system, and got the parts from Crutchfield to integrate the factory amp with the new head. Clarity is much improved.

I should say that I'm not a big car audio nut, and now that I have my Borla, I rarely turn on the radio. Too much fun just listening to that intake and exhaust on my short drive to work. laugh

Re-Welcome confused

Anyway, congrats on the purchase. The green ones are nice and very very rare. Congrats on the first kill. laugh Silly Honda. laugh

It has all been said already. Replace the HU first and see how it sounds (Best thing you can do), then if you want to go nuts, add a sub. This is sufficient for nice sounds. laugh

I just purchased my CSVT also for a daily driver. I love her so far!! Stereo system going in today. The stock is sub-par at best.
